How AHCC treats HPV – The results of a Phase II clinical trial

At this phase of the clinical trial, researchers enrolled a large number of participants to evaluate the potency of AHCC in the management of HPV. Researchers conducted a phase II clinical trial after completing phase I, which focuses on the safety of the medication.

During Phase II, researchers recruit participants with confirmed diagnoses of HPV. Each patient has been diagnosed for at least 24 months. These participants were given AHCC supplementation every day for 6 months. The dosage of the supplement was 3 grams via the oral route. Analyzing the results revealed that 50% of participants tested negative for HPV RNA and HPV DNA. In other words, molecular tests could not detect the genetic material of HPV. Most participants did not experience any side effects from the supplement.

What’s unique about this research is the design of the clinical trials. Despite the absence of FDA regulation for AHCC, the authors of the study followed the same standards that pharmacological drugs undergo. This is an attempt to provide patients with a safe and effective option to manage persistent HPV infections.

Older individuals are also advised to take the vaccine, but younger girls are the primary targets. If you receive the vaccine but you are already exposed to the virus, the vaccine will not protect you against that type of HPV. With that said, it may still protect you against other strains of HPV, including the high-risk ones.
